Modafinil Review

Modafinil is a central nervous system stimulant and is a prescription drug which was developed to treat narcolepsy and word-shift sleep disorder. Even thought it was initially created and produced for that purpose, it now sees use as a nootropic drug, which people utilize to benefit their focus, productivity and energy.

People also use traditional stimulants such as Focalin and Vyvanse for this purpose. They also give users intense focus, and many people say that they find them very useful as a study aid. The problem with these drugs is that are very toxic and easy to get addicted to. They release massive amounts of dopamine in the brain, which is what is responsible for the pro-focus and beneficial effects. This also causes them to sometimes be very enjoyable to the user, which is what puts the user at risk of addiction.

Another aspect of the dopamine release which they cause is oxidative stress in your brain. This means that when you use these study drugs you are literally killing brain cells while doing so. In addition to these serious negative consequences, these drug also cause desensitization of dopamine receptors in the long term. If you take one of these consistently over a few months, you may cause permanent damage to your brain. In this case, you will always be at a deficiency of dopamine, and need to take your prescription just in order to be at the normal level.

This makes both of these and other medications (which are supposed to be used only as a treatment for attention deficit hyperactive disorder) not a good option for a study aid, and very unsafe, especially when taken constantly and over long periods of time.

Here is where Modafinil comes in. While Modafinil is technically a prescription medication, it doesn’t come with any of the aforementioned negative side effects which can result from use of the ADHD medications.

When taken Modafinil causes clean focus and energy for up to 12 hours afterwards. This stimulation is very strong and beneficial, yet still it does not come with any of the negative side effects associated with this level of stimulation form something like caffeine, and doesn’t come will all the negative health effects from getting this level of stimulation form ADHD medication. Modafinil is a schedule 4 prescription drug in the United States, so it is not legal to buy, sell, obtain or use without a doctor’s prescription. It is still easy and relatively safe to order Modafinil online from an overseas pharmacy. This is illegal, so be cautious before doing so.

If you are looking for a legal alternative, I suggest you consider buying Adrafinil. Adrafinil is the pro-drug to Modafinil, so it has a very similar effects profile. Due to it’s nature it takes 2-3x the dosage of Adrafinil to get the same effects as you would from Modafinil, and it also takes about an hour longer to kick in. This is because Adraifnil is pocessed into Modafinil in the liver. There is some concern that this may cause liver damage over time, so tread lightly.

Before you decide to use either of these nootropics, due lots of safety research, consult a doctor, and realize that you may be putting yourself at legal risk for doing so.

Whatever you decide to do, good luck, and happy Afinil-ing
